FGD Wastewater Treatment
Power plants are regulated to remove sulfur emissions from flue gas, a by-product generated in coal combustion. The most common method used in flue gas desulfurization (FGD), is wet-scrubbing - a highly effective process resulting in FGD wastewater. Due to a myriad of inputs effecting FGD wastewater composition, treatment must be able to handle these variables, yet meet discharge permit requirements. Ovivo designs systems that treat FGD wastewater fluctuations while adhering to regulations.
